About the Program

Transforming Rural Tamil Nadu, One Village at a Time

Rural villages are the backbone of India, yet many across Tamil Nadu lack basic infrastructure, clean water, proper sanitation, and livelihood opportunities. Sengodu Foundation's Rural Development Program works on the ground — partnering directly with Village Presidents, Panchayat offices, and government departments — to identify urgent needs and implement lasting, community-owned solutions.

From bore-well installation and road improvement to forming Women's Self-Help Groups and organising youth skill training, every initiative is shaped by the community itself. We don't just build infrastructure — we build the confidence and capability of people to shape their own futures.

Our strength comes from the extraordinary support of our volunteers and community members, who stand with us in every activity, making the impossible possible. Because of them, we can act swiftly, reach remote areas, and sustain long-term impact.

Village Issue Escalation

Have a Village Problem? We Will Raise It.

Sengodu Foundation doesn't wait for problems to resolve themselves. Whenever a village across Tamil Nadu faces an urgent need — road damage, water shortage, power failure, school maintenance, public health concerns — we take it directly to the responsible official and follow up until resolved.

1

Community Reports the Issue

Villagers, SHG members, school teachers, or any community member contacts Sengodu Foundation volunteers about a local problem in their community.

2

We Escalate to the Right Office

We directly contact the Village President, BDO, RDO, PWD, TWAD Board, TNEB, or whichever government department holds responsibility for the issue.

3

We Follow Up Until Resolved

We don't stop after one letter. We follow up, represent the community in meetings, and ensure the issue reaches full closure — keeping the community informed at every step.
